19th April to 30th April 2010 HWAT are putting on a special showcase exhibition at the spacious Harleston Gallery in the lead up to our Grand Art Auction. The exhibition begins on 19th April 2010 and will be open Monday to Saturday, 10am - 4pm, for the two weeks leading up to the HWAT Art Auction on Friday 30th April 2010. Each HWAT artist will be exhibiting just one artwork that is representative of their style in this showcase exhibition. It is a chance for the public to see the quality of contemporary art and crafts made by our artists. 
To complement the main showcase exhibition, we will also be displaying an exciting range of window-mounted mini-works created by HWAT artists (the mounts are a standard A5 size, with an aperture). All mini-works will be for sale at just £25 each. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire the work of professional artists at a very accessible price - and you can take the artwork away straight after purchase; there is no need to wait to the end of the main exhibition.

HWAT artists will initially have two mini-works on display in the Harleston Gallery, with the mini-art exhibition constantly replenished as the mini-artworks sell. This is a fabulous opportunity to buy art for those who are wary of gallery art - or if you have bought contemporary art before, to find some lovely new pieces for your personal art collection. Friday 30th April 2010 The Harleston and Waveney Trail is delighted to announce that we will be holding a special fundraising Auction of Art & Promises on Friday 30th April 2010 at The Swan Hotel in Harleston. The auction will be a lively and exciting event, with a fabulous selection of items to bid on, from paintings and ceramics, sculptures and textiles to some more surprising and unusual promises from artists. |

26th-27th June, 3rd-4th July and 10th-11th July 2010 The Harleston & Waveney Art Trail 2010 Our Art Trail will lead you into the studios and workshops of a collective of more than thirty artists, and through the countryside of the lovely Waveney Valley and its market towns and villages.
All studios are no more than eight miles from Harleston, so you can follow the Trail on foot, by bike, or by car – indeed four bicycles are available for hire from the Swan Hotel in the centre of Harleston. The Trail is now a regular summer fixture with a different guest artist each year, and new studios participating while others take a sabbatical.
We show drawings, paintings, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles and photography, all to browse or buy – many studios open their gardens as well. Artists will also be showing a selection of work during the Trail at the Harleston Gallery, and at Cork Brick Gallery, Bungay.
There is excellent hotel and B&B accommodation in Harleston, Bungay and elsewhere along the Art Trail (click here for places to stay in the Waveney Valley), and a wealth of watering holes, so it’s easy to enjoy a full weekend or longer, on the Art Trail, and meet a wide range of artists and their work.
